TASTING NOTES

Appearance: Cherry colour with violet tones.
Nose: Balsamic aromas, black fruits and liquorice.
Palate: Well structured, with tannins that make it soft and delicate.

ELABORATION

Varieties: Graciano, Grenache, Tempranillo and Mazuela.
Manual harvesting in 18 kg boxes.
The grapes are taken to fermentation tanks by gravity after being destemmed and crushed.
Fermentation for 20 days at 25ºC, making slight pump-overs to make a selective extraction.
Aged for 16 months in 700-litre oak foudres and barrels.

Terras Gauda enters the world of Rioja through a pilot: Heraclio Alfaro Fournier. The winery (formerly Egomei) is located in Alfaro, where Heraclio Alfaro's aircraft hangar used to be, and where he owns a 100-hectare estate, of which 40 are vineyards at the foot of the winery.
