Tasting notes:
Development and Aging:
Wine made from grapes 90% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha, Mazuela and Graciano from Rioja Alavesa area manually harvested and processed in Viña Real. The stemmed grapes is deposited in stainless steel tanks in which makes a cold maceration before alcoholic fermentation with temperature control to maintain the typical aromas of the variety tempranillo. The wine, after the malolactic fermentation, passes barrels French and American oak where it remains 14 months.
Curiosities:
The Viña Real Laguardia winery, designed by French architect Philippe Mazieres consists of three buildings, the main of which is built in red cedar and shaped tub. Natural light, the caves dug to store wine and cutting-edge technology - with the use of gravity, installation of the first vertical hopper in Spain - define this monumental work.
Vineyards in the Sierra de Cantabria steep fall towards the Ebro basin. The mountains protect this Rioja Alavesa where the Atlantic climate combined with clayey and calcareous soils.
