Lacuesta Selecto 2021

Martinez Lacuesta Selecto is a fruity, juicy and fresh red wine. It is a young wine, made from Graciano, Mazuelo and Tempranillo grapes. The grapes come from vineyards located between 450 and 600 metres above sea level on clay-limestone soils, with an average age of 25 years.





TASTING NOTES:

Appearance: Purplish cherry red colour.

Nose: Aromas of red fruit and vegetables.

Mouth: In the mouth it is tasty, light and fresh, with a very pleasant fruity passage and a warm finish.



DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN: Rioja.



WINEMAKING: Made with the Graciano, Mazuelo and Tempranillo varieties.



AGEING: Aged for a few months in new American oak barrels.



CURIOSITIES: The Martínez Lacuesta winery has a tradition that goes back more than a century, having been founded in 1895 and having preserved its family character. This winery is located on 6,000 square metres in the heart of Haro (La Rioja).

Martínez Lacuesta was started by Félix Martínez Lacuesta when he was only 21 years old, who later headed the Sindicato de vinos de la Demoninación. The vineyards extend over 15 hectares, and they have more than 8,000 French and American oak barrels for ageing their wines. As a differential element, wood has been a key factor in Martínez Lacuesta as it has its own cooperage and allows a better replacement and conservation of the oak wood.
