Development and Aging The reserves of Marques de Riscal are made basically from grapes from vines over 15 years of Tempranillo, located in the best chalky clay soils of Rioja Alavesa. This variety holds up well aging in wood and bottle aging thanks to its good acid balance and its fine tannins. The Graciano and Mazuelo varieties, whose percentage in the mixture does not exceed 10%, bring freshness and vividness of color. The fermentation is conducted at a controlled temperature of 26 ° C with a maceration not exceeding 12 days. Riscal's reserves remain about two years in American oak barrels, forming a wine that fits within the canons of La Rioja, cool, fine, elegant and with great aging potential classicism. Before leaving the market it has a minimum period in bottle a año.Crianza: 26 months aging in American oak barrels.
