Preparation and Aging:

Made with Tempranillo (75%), Garnacho (15%), Graciano and Mazuelo (10%) varieties, from their own vineyards.

Manual harvest to obtain a great wine, cluster by cluster. It is essential to cut by hand, with the curved blade called corquete, to prevent the grain from breaking and releasing must that could ferment prematurely.

Once the wines are fermented, they are transferred to the 225-liter oak Bordeaux wine cellars, where, in absolute rest, at the cool and constant temperature of the underground cellars, in which the American oak barrels are stacked in perfect order, the the upbringing.

During the reduction period in the bottle, it reaches its fullness due to lack of oxygen, a lack that gives it characteristics of great softness and that infinite range of aromatic nuances that will constitute its "bouquet". At the López de Heredia house, all wines, even those of a more commercial nature, remain in the bottle for at least six months after aging in wood before going on the market.

Aged for 6 years, with 2 rackings per year. Clarified with fresh egg whites, bottled unfiltered.

Curiosities:

Viña Tondonia was the first brand of the house and is also, in essence, the main vineyard, a beautiful vineyard of more than 100 hectares, located on the right bank of the Ebro River, forming a landscape of alluvium, limestone and poplars, which the Founder of the winery, Don Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta, planted in the years 1913-1914 in his desire to ensure quality at its origin, the vineyard, in which the work is carried out manually.
