From the Hermanos Sastre Winery, a Chateau in the Ribera del Duero, Severiano Sastre was the pioneer in this great project and already in the 50s he made the first wines in the underground cellars of La Horra. Viña Sastre has wanted to focus all its efforts on making excellent wines with the Tempranillo or Tinta del País grape using the traditional system but applying the most advanced techniques, vintage and manual selection and aging in American and French oak. Viña Sastre Roble is the youngest wine from the winery from the youngest vines in the winery that are protected by a large pine forest from the continental climate of the Ribera del Duero. From the beginning, they opted for organic farming, renouncing expressly to all kinds of mineral fertilizers and herbicides.
Very intense cherry color, almost opaque, with a garnet rim. High layer and great aromatic complexity where we find currant jam and fruit tips. New wood very well integrated into the wine as a whole. On the palate it is very tasty and powerful, with an excellent acidity-alcohol balance. Fine woods, long on the palate and with persistence of grouped toasted notes. A full-bodied, aromatic, complex and very balanced wine, pleasant and easy to drink.
