TASTING NOTES

• Appearance: Very intense colour with a deep layer, with a very dark background and a cherry red rim.
• Nose: On the nose very intense, deep, very elegant, intoxicating. Perfectly assembled wood. Lots of ripe black fruit, along the lines of plum and blackberry. Mineral notes and sweet spices of enormous quality appear, sensations of dark chocolate together with ripe fruit and the broken stone of the plum.
• Palate: Very voluminous with ripe and fresh black fruit, mineral notes and the memory of chocolate. Powerful retronasal path, with refreshing and balsamic notes of aromatic plants in the pine forest. High quality tannin. Excellent aftertaste of very black ripe fruit, cocoa and refreshing balsamic notes. Incredible sensation of pleasure in the mouth, power and elegance at the same time.

ELABORATION

Made 100% with Tinta del País grapes (Tempranillo), from exhaustively selected grapes from old vineyards over 60 years old located in the Pagos de la Horra and Roa (Burgos). Fermentation takes place in oak vats for 18 days and the ageing is 16 months in barrels of 80% French oak and 20% American oak. Stabilization by natural means and clarification with egg albumin is performed.

CURIOSITIES

Bodegas Roda is starting a new project. After a trajectory of more than twenty years in the D.O.Ca Rioja, Roda intends to take advantage of the knowledge and experience to diversify in the D.O. Ribera del Duero with the creation of Bodegas La Horra. The diversification of the company began as early as 1999 with oil. Today Bodegas Roda has two single-vineyard oils: Dauro in the Empordà and Aubocassa in Mallorca. The new company will take advantage of the existing synergies in the technical, management, R+D+i research and commercial distribution of its products, Roda, Roda I, Cirsion, Dauro and Aubocassa, which reach 55 countries.
