TASTING NOTES
- Appearance: Cherry red colour with a medium-high layer.
- Nose: Aromas of spicy black fruits along with lactic aromas of plums and blackberries.
- Palate: Fresh fruit entry, balance of creamy flavors provided by the barrel. Persistent and long.
ELABORATION
100% Tempranillo variety.
Vendimia manual.
Fermentation for 16 days with daily pump-overs and manual punch-downs.
Aged for 6 months in 500L Bordeaux barrels (50% French oak, 50% American oak).
CURIOSITIES
Convento San Francisco is a winery founded in 1998 on the remains of the old Convent of San Francisco de Peñafiel (Valladolid) erected in the thirteenth century. The surroundings were rehabilitated to restore the splendour of this precious enclave and to build the necessary facilities for the production of high quality wines.
The winery has modern facilities perfectly adapted to the architectural ensemble that houses them. The new buildings are designed using the style and materials (stone, Mudejar brick and wood) in accordance with the environment and with the old Convent.
