Tasting note:

  • It has an intense cherry colour with small orange shades, clean, with a powerful, beautiful, shiny presence of pigments.
  • The nose is a wine with an extraordinary personality and an enormous charm, which eventually envelops the nose and palate of the gourmet, who is seduced by a genuine and important message. It combines delicacy and intensity, freshness and sweetness, denotes ripe black fruit, with a noble bitter background, with an intense and spectacular ductile tanninicity, with aromas of roasted coffee, caramel and cocoa; when the glass is shaken, ripe fruits appear: apricots, quince jellies and raisins. Complex, elegant and of great intensity.
  • The attack in mouth denotes the superb essence of blueberries and the fatty touches of rose petals and violets, with an enveloping layer of nuts, vanilla and cocoa. Coal or stone. The touch of coffee on the palate, the hot cocoa on the nose, the long journey of a soft, meticulous acidity, with a very pleasant, long, juicy persistence. The liquorice bottoms and some heather or cane give way to the ripe black plum. A raspberry and aniseed finish to round off a touch of delicious floral and Indian ink. He's generous, greedy and very clean. The aromas are now expressed with real intensity in the mouth. Great structure, very fine and long.

Elaboration and ageing:

It comes from 100% Tempranillo grapes that have been rigorously hand-selected both in the vineyard and in the winery. For its production, half of the wine was fermented by carbonic maceration and the other half by the traditional destemming system, making the malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, after which it remained 18 months in new French and American oak barrels, 50% in the traditional way and is aged in oak barrels for 18 months.

This is a great wine, a Rioja with personality, history and modernity. Who, year after year, achieves high scores for Robert Parker and Peñín

Aging: 19 months in barrels: 50 % French oak, 50 % American oak.
