CATA's notes:

  • Color : Pale straw yellow in tone with greenish hints and it is a clean wine in which brilliance stands out.
  • Nose : its aromas are intense, clear and elegant; fruity from the tropical range in harmony with floral white blossoms and tones of hay and fresh grass.
  • Mouth: It has a medium structure in excellent harmony with a measure of acidity that gives it a remarkable freshness, with an elegant fruity sensation and a soft final bitterness.

Development and aging
Made with 100% Verdejo grapes, from gravelly and stony vineyards on the La Moja and Matalamoza farms, covering 61.8 hectares, planted in 2008 in the small town of Valdestillas. Prepared in the traditional way, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 10-14 days (16ºC) and is aged for 3 months on lees.

Curiosities:
He spirit of melior speaks for itself. Young wines with a classic air, which are born wanting to travel the world. Melior, from the Latin Melior-Melioris, means the best, and it certainly is in its category.

matarromera: In Valbuena de Duero, the cradle of Tempranillo in the Ribera del Duero, the roots of Bodega Matarromera lie, founded in 1988 on the side of a hill facing south, from which the impassive Duero River can be seen. This cozy winery is the perfect setting for making aged wines, since the conditions provided by its half-buried warehouses are perfect for making wines in which the balance between oak and Tempranillo is the protagonist. The first vintage from Bodega Matarromera, obtained the Great Gold Medal at the International Wine Competition, which was an incredible starting point for a story full of successes.
