TASTING NOTES

• Appearance: Intense dark cherry red colour, with a high layer.
• Nose: Good aromatic intensity, with good toasted notes and light fruity notes. When it is aerated the ripe black fruit, it gains a lot of intensity, becoming the protagonist along with lactics, subtle floral touches and pleasant balsamic notes.
• Palate: Fresh, very tasty, sweet and intense, with a silky mid-palate. Good tannins yet to be polished and correct acidity. Long finish with a fruity aftertaste.
  

ELABORATION

Varieties: 94% Mencía, 3% red varieties, 3% white varieties.
Alcoholic fermentation in wooden vats and stainless steel tanks with punch-downs and pump-overs.
Malolactic fermentation for 2 months.
Aged for 9 months in barrels and barrels.

CURIOSITIES

Álvaro Palacios, promoter of the Priorat and author of such unique wines as L'Ermita or Finca Dofí, is committed here to the expression of the most "Atlantic" terroir of Castile, El Bierzo, and to the Mencía grape. Together with his nephew, Ricardo Pérez, he has signed up for biodynamic viticulture and is producing some of the most important wines ever made in Spain. Descendants of J. Palacios is the name of the company they have formed, in homage to Álvaro's father and Ricardo's grandfather.
