TASTING:

View: Cherry red, clean and bright.
Nose: Fruity and mineral notes with ripe black fruit especially.
Mouth:
Complex and spacious.

ELABORATION:

Vineyards on sandy loam soils. This plot is located in Tobarra. On the farm planted about 50-60 years ago. In addition to Monastrell, there are a few Moravian Agria and Airen vines that are vinified alongside Monastrell. Perhaps that tiny amount of other varieties, together with the estate's own profile, gives this wine some very special characteristics. A Mediterranean wine, deep, meaty although not over-extracted or over-matured, with quality tannins that matured for 10 months in 3rd year barrels, that did not provide wood aromas, the fruit prevails above all.

CURIOSITIES:

There is another way of interpreting the origin without giving up on it and Bruma del Estrecho has already managed, despite its short life, to find different faces to the Monastrell variety in a unique collection of wines.

It is the personal project of two very beloved characters in the area such as Elena Pacheco, winemaker, and Isio Ramos, advisor and commercial manager. Two people who seek in this project to make wines that express the area, marking that Mediterranean character that, depending on the vintage, the soils of each plot, orientations and altitudes, different personalities of a grape and a territory can be shown. Their wines are somewhat fresher, more elegant and drier than what we normally expect from these latitudes.

They develop plots both in the northern area of the DO, in Tobarra (Albacete), and in the warmer part and to the south, in Jumilla, being able to try different sensations of pure terroir in the same project. Its soils range from stony and limestone to the most sandy.

They currently make seven different wines, including a white from Airén, Las Encebras. The years in which the vintage does not allow the maximum character of the plot to be extracted, that wine is not made. They always seek to show the purest side of the wine, which is why most of their wines are barely aged in wood, being somewhat more intense with wines with more potential without being wood-aged.
