Terras Gauda Etiqueta Negra is a white wine that stands out for its fruitiness, uniqueness and structure. It is a blend of native varieties of this appellation: Albariño, Loureiro and Caíño Blanco, planted in the O Rosal Valley, a privileged spot at the mouth of the Miño River towards the Atlantic Ocean. The different varieties are vinified separately. A coupage is made with the musts of each of the varieties and the mixture is put into French oak barrels where fermentation takes place.
TASTING NOTES:
Sight: Intense straw yellow colour.
Nose: Clear aromas of clementine, melon, quince and ripe pineapple stand out, supported by delicate notes of Catalan cream, melted butter and soft hints of toast.
Palate: In the mouth it is powerful, structured and lively. It is elegant and abundant at the same time, giving a velvety and enveloping sensation. It has a long and persistent finish.
APPELLATION OF ORIGIN: Rías Baixas.
WINEMAKING: Made with the Albariño, Caíño Blanco and Loureiro varieties.
AGEING: Aged for 5 months in contact with the lees in barrels and 9 months in foudres.
CURIOSITIES: At Terras Gauda they make white wines from the Albariño, Loureiro and Caíño Blanco varieties in Rías Baixas, one of the five denominations of origin in Galicia, which currently has more than 200 wineries, of which Terras Gauda is the number one in terms of volume.
The winery's philosophy was based on the idea that Albariño could offer a greater dimension combined with other native grape varieties that would add new nuances and give O Rosal wines a higher category.
