It all started in Sambuca di Sicilia, on an estate that belongs to the Planeta family since the seventeenth century. This was where, in the mid-80s, three young enthusiasts (Alessio, Francesca and Santi Planeta) embarked on their winemaking adventure.

Respect for the environment and care for biodiversity are the watchwords of this company, which combines ancestral practices with the most innovative oenological processes and in which native grapes coexist in total harmony with international varieties.

MENFI - ULMO VINEYARD

From the sea to the hills, up to an altitude of 400 meters, the territory of Menfi is home to the largest extension of our vineyards. They cultivate more than 250 hectares, and make a careful selection of vines, both native and international varieties, to the specificities of each terroir.

VITTORIA - DORILLI VINEYARD

The main characteristic of this land is the appearance of its red sand; from it derives the name of Cerasuolo, which evokes the "cerasa", cherry in Sicilian. Here, between the plateau and the sea, where summer temperatures are very high and rainfall very scarce, the vines are intertwined with the ecosystem of the Mediterranean macchia.

NOTO - BUONIVINI VINEYARD

The appearance of the gentle hills of Buonivini, the white calcareous soil, the breezes that arise from the meeting of two seas, create the best conditions for the vines to grow successfully and give rise to great wines. Here grow the Nero d'Avola and the Moscato along with almond, carob and olive trees, symbolic plants of the Mediterranean location.

ETNA - SCIARANUOVA VINEYARD

The volcanic soils of Etna come from the slow decomposition of the lava rock, the abundant presence of ash emitted by the crater and organic substances. They are rich in stones and minerals. The amount and dimension of the stones varies greatly in the different terraces, as does the depth of each type of soil. In all cases, fertility and complexity are the common denominator of the different soils of the vineyards of the Etna area.

CAPO MILAZZO - BARONIA VINEYARD

8 hectares, 4 hectares of vineyards are already productive with respect to the regulations of Doc Mamertino (60% Nero d'Avola, 40% Nocera). In the rest, three ancient varieties have been introduced, experimentally and for research; Vitraruolo, Lucignola and Catanese Nera. Viticulture systems have been chosen according to the territory, using conduction systems typical of marine areas such as supported alborello, and without irrigation.

After the Invisible Winery of Noto and with the same desire for discreet presence, a 'Removable Winery' was thought of for Capo Milazzo; it is a symbol of the Planet project for this territory, oriented towards integral sustainability.
