Designation of Origin Monterrey is located in the region of Galicia and is divided into two divisions: the Valley of Monterrei Monterrei and Hillside. Because of its proximity to the basin of the Duero River, which crosses the region from north to south, and its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, has a Mediterranean climate but with great continental influence.
