CURIOSITIES:
For more than 500 years the Raventós family has been involved in making wine in the region of Catalonia . Its 90 hectares have been part of the family since 1497 and the quality of its wines is exceptional. It is the best in its entire region and, possibly also to our taste, in Spain.
Located in the town of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the winery was founded in 1986 by a team formed by father and son: Josep and Manuel Raventós. Unfortunately Josep passed away only 20 days after founding the winery but Manuel decided to continue with the project with the same passion and ideals that he and his father had put into creating elegant and simple cavas with the aim of putting cava in the world as a legitimate wine and not a mere imitation of Champagne.
Fortunately for all of us, they have had the greatest success in their mission and today they make sparkling wines that, without a doubt, are some of the best we have ever tasted. The current winemaker, Pepe Raventós , continues to fight to put Spanish sparkling wine in a position of quality and, to do so, is working on a new Designation of Origin for high-quality Spanish sparkling wines under the name Conca del Riu Anoia . The objective is compete in the market directly with champagne .
