Tasting notes:
- Color: cherry red with purple trim and floral features.
- Nose: explosion of red fruits compotado, balanced and fresh nose.
- Mouth: silky and balanced with long finish, soft and sweet tannins very integrated. Good acidity and great persistence in the end.
Processing and aging:
Three days of cold maceration. Alcoholic fermentation with autochthonous yeasts in stainless tanks of 5000 liters at 25º maximum. Malolactic fermentation at a controlled temperature 23º maximum.12 months in new French oak barrels and at least 12 months in the bottle.
A wine that can be taken now or saved a few years because it will surely improve.
Curiosities:
The resurgence of the Balboa vineyards, between forests and undergrowth, begins in 1997. A project that has also included the rehabilitation of the medieval village of A Millara. Located on a hillside that flows into the Mino riverbed, the strains of the Ribeira Sacra grow and produce 130,000 bottles that are mostly exported to the United States, but also to Europe, China and Malaysia. Today Raul Perez, considered one of the best enologists in the world, is in charge of the most modern line of wines from this winery.
