CURIOSITIES
Known for his Vouvray but also for his late harvest wines, Monsieur Brédif was a pioneer in the world of viticulturists, creating Vouvray sparkling wine at the beginning of the 20th century.
In 1980, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over as a true wine lover. He gave a new impetus to this century-old house, preserving its quality and tradition.
Its cellars dug into the tuff since the 10th century are among the largest and most beautiful in the appellation. They keep very rare wines in their galleries whose vintages date back to 1874.
Depending on the clayey-calcareous and siliceous soil, the exposure to the sun or the age of the vines, the Maison Brédif vinifies three types of wines: the classic Vouvray, the Marc Brédif Nectar, from a late harvest in exceptional years, and the Vigne Blanche, a wine made from grapes bearing the same name as the vineyard itself, the sole property of the House: this monopole produces a great dry white wine.
The Maison Brédif also produces in Chinon some red and rosé wines such as the prestigious Chinon Réserve Privée cuvée as well as the rare Chinon Blanc.
