Atteca is a very pleasant, long and flavoursome red wine, where the grape variety from which it is made is well appreciated. It is characterised by a great explosion of fruit, with a concentration of sweet spices and a balsamic background with subtle mineral notes that follow one after the other in multiple layers. This wine is a single varietal Garnacha from small plots of old vines of the Garnacha grape variety planted on slate soils in the higher altitude areas of the area.
TASTING NOTES:

APPELLATION OF ORIGIN: Calatayud.
WINEMAKING: Made with 100% Garnacha grape variety.
AGEING: Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
CURIOSITIES: Bodegas Ateca, founded in 2005, is the Gil Family's project in the Calatayud Denomination of Origin and is located in the municipality of Ateca (Zaragoza), 14 km from the town that gives its name to the Denomination. The wines of Bodegas Ateca are the result of a meticulous work of grape selection, with very exhaustive analytical and organoleptic quality criteria, proceeding to harvest the grapes at the ideal moment of ripening. The technical management is the responsibility of the Australian oenologist Michael Kyberd. The vineyard, planted on slate soils at the highest altitudes in the area, is mainly composed of small plots of old vines of the Garnacha variety (some dating from the early 20th century) and is located around the slopes of the Ateca hillsides and the surrounding villages.
