Tempranillo . The vineyard for PHYLOS winemaking is located in the municipalities of Fuentelcésped and Fuentespina. The landscape is made up of gentle slopes in which the vineyard is interspersed with sorts of holm oak scrub. Soil formed in the Miocene, mainly by limestone, reddish sandy clays and clayey marls. All the plots are between 840 and 900 masl. All its vineyards are planted in goblet as is traditional. The date of planting varies between 1964 and 2003 (average age 38). The average yield obtained is 4,000 Kg/Ha.

Preparation by gravity. Destemmed without crushing in order to maintain the integrity of the berries. Fermentation takes place in small-volume stainless steel tanks, separating parcels if possible. Native yeasts are used. FML in stainless steel tank. Aged for 12 months in new 30% and used French oak barrels, with volumes of 225l, 300l and 500l.

Phylos is an ancient Greek term used to refer to brotherly love, friendship and affection. And it is also the name with which the Fuentelcésped De Blas Serrano winery has wanted to name one of its wines.
