Louis Roeder Collection is a fine and elegant Champagne, which provides, thanks to the reserve wines, a vinosity, roundness and flavours that make it vibrant, fresh and generous. This Champagne is the result of the union of wines from eight different vintages. It is a sparkling wine made from different varieties in which Chardonnay dominates, exhibiting great maturity.
TASTING NOTES:
Apperance: Bright golden yellow colour.
Nose: Medium-high intensity aromas of ripe and sweet fruits, completed with fine woody notes.
Palate: In the mouth it is full, complex and with characteristics of maturity associated with notes of fruit. With juicy body and great persistence on the finish.
DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN: Champagne.
WINEMAKING: Made with 42% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot noir and 22% Meunier varieties.
AGEING: Maturing for 3 years in underground oak barrels and a rest of 6 months after disgorging.
CURIOSITIES: The upheavals of the early 20th century, and especially the First World War, which destroyed more than half of Louis Roederer's cellars, led Léon Olry Roederer to rebuild his vineyard. He decided to buy grapes to ensure the continuity of the Maison during this period of crisis and, taking advantage of the occasion, he created a blended wine without a vintage, which expresses a constant flavour whatever the vintage year: Louis Roederer Brut Premier.
