Tasting Notes:- Cherry cherry color with violet reflections.
- Nose: fruity aromas, some freshness, mineral and creamy notes of oak very melted in the wine.
- In mouth it is ample, tasty, very balanced, warm, tasty and sweet tannins, mineral retronasal and finely toasted.
It is an example of the new Prioratos, somewhat brave, very complex, very tasty, with that puzzle of sweet flavours and almost something past that Cariñena and Garnacha contribute, but at the same time raised by the acidity of Cabernet, with a slightly eau-de-vie voice that promises to soften with the passage of time in the bottle.
Elaboration and Ageing:Made with Garnacha 55%, Cariñena 44% and 1% of other varieties from nine municipalities of the D.O. Ca Priorat: Gratallops: La Vilella Baixa, Bellmunt, El Lloar, El Molar, Porrera, Scala Dei, Torroja and Poboleda. The age of the vines from which the grapes come is around 60 and 90 years old. He has spent 11 months in 20% new French oak barrels and the rest of 1, 2 and 3 years.
This wine is made with a simpler idea than its brothers Finca Dofí and L'Ermita, without losing the elegance and personality that characterises Álvaro Palacios' wines.
Curiosities:The oenologist Álvaro Palacios is a celebrity in Spanish viticulture. Among his most renowned creations are historic wines such as L'Ermita or Finca Dofí that have brought the Priorat lands to be known throughout the world. He arrived in Gratallops in 1989 and fell in love with the mystical landscape of vine cultivation, mainly slate and cliff soils, where the old Garnacha and Cariñena vineyards are located, giving his wines a marked character.
