Penfolds Bin 389 Shiraz-Cabernet 2021
New product
A red wine often referred to as Baby Grange. This is because the components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that housed the previous vintage of Grange.
It combines the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of Shiraz.
Bin 389 highlights the generous mid-palate for which Penfolds is renowned.

Tasting notes:
Dense purple color.
The nose of this South Australian red wine captivates with hints of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, and blackberry. If we explore the aromatics a little further, we find green pepper, vanilla, and gingerbread spices, enhanced by the influence of oak.
Palate: It is wonderfully dry. This red is never coarse or sparse, as one would expect from an iconic wine. This dense and powerful red is full-bodied and multifaceted on the palate.
Production and Aging: Made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grape varieties. Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz is an Old World wine through and through, as this Australian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The grapes for this Australian red wine are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. Once harvested, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. There they are carefully selected and crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small, temperature-controlled wooden vats. Once fermentation is complete, Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz is aged for a further 12 months in American oak barrels.
