TASTING NOTES

  • Appearance: Garnet red with purple reflections.
  • Nose: Intense, with aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberries) and mineral notes framed by woody memories.
  • Palate: Soft and balanced entry, with fine tannins and a seductive minerality. Long and persistent finish with notes of black fruits.

 
ELABORATION

100% Syrah variety.
Manual harvest.
Fermentation with native yeasts in vats at a controlled temperature.
Maceration of 4 weeks followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels.
Maturation in barrels for 12 months + 6 months in concrete tanks.
25% of the wine is made in French oak barrels, giving it consistency, strength and aromatic complexity.
The remaining 75% matures in concrete vats, which preserves the freshness and minerality of the Syrah.

CURIOSITIES

The name Saint-Joseph refers to Joseph, the husband of the Virgin Mary, a name given by the Jesuits.
