Itsasmendi is a naturally young, fresh and complex white wine. This wine is born from the indigenous varieties Hondarrabi zuri and Hondarrabi zuri zerrati showing all the character and diversity of this small Atlantic territory. A wine with a taste of the sea and honest ethnic roots.
TASTING NOTES:
Sight: Straw yellow colour.
Nose: Aromas of white fruit, orange blossom and lemon peel, wild aromatic plants of great complexity.
Palate: In the mouth it is fresh and intense with aromas of fruit and citrus fruits. Oily and tasty salinity with a floral, bitter finish, typical of Hondarrabi Zuri, which makes for a long and persistent wine.
DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN: Bizkaiko Txakolina.
WINEMAKING: Made with the Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratie varieties.
AGEING: Young ageing.
CURIOSITIES: The climate is influenced by the Cantabrian Sea, with mild winters and cool summers. It has a high rainfall, concentrated mainly in spring, a time when specific care is carried out in the vineyard. Towards the end of summer and beginning of autumn, the nights become cool and the days are mild, facilitating the correct ripening of the grapes.
Bodegas Itsamendi practises environmentally friendly agriculture, respecting the great diversity of vegetation on the perimeter and slopes of the vineyard.
