Tasting notes:
- Colour: Pale straw yellow.
- Nose: Aromatic notes of mango and pineapple in syrup.
- Mouth: Friendly and long-lasting drink, well structured and complex.
Elaboration and Aging:Coming from grapes from selected vineyards in the Abia Valley in the D.O. Ribeiro arranged in terraces (socalcos) and gentle slopes. Grape selection in the vineyard. Temperature control from the reception of the grape in the vineyard. Light maceration of whole grapes in cold storage before pneumatic pressing. Separation of musts. Static debourbage. Low temperature fermentation. Stabilisation in stainless steel for months until reaching sufficient maturity for bottling in May. Bright straw colour. The nose shows aromas of frosted fruit, ripe fruit and citrus. The mouth is tasty with notes of sweetness and a fine bitterness.
Curiosities:When a person dies he usually has a lot of small parcels and other properties distributed by different places, with very different cadastral values. The notaries then elaborate groups of these properties or quotas with similar value, or with different values depending on what the deceased has stipulated in the testament. Normally these quotas are sorted among the heirs. In Casal de Arman, they are a family of 6 children (4 boys and 2 girls) and their parents, which makes a total of 7 quotas. In the cellar there are 7 parts of property. This wine is a tribute to the family.
Bodegas Casal de Arman is a project that was born in the late 90's, but belongs to the fourth generation of a family group that has produced wines in the Ribeiro since the late nineteenth century. Illusion, work and passion for the world of wine are the pillars on which the Casal de Armán project is based. The need for appropriate facilities to carry out this adventure led to the restoration of an old house from the 18th century that was in ruins. The González Vázquez family bought the property and, after eight years of hard work, today it splendidly houses a rural hotel, a restaurant with Galician cuisine and its winery. The building that houses the winery is located in an annex to the old house. Built in the Galician architectural tradition, the winery's facilities combine simple stone and fine woods with the most modern technology in winemaking machinery: stainless steel tanks, pneumatic presses, selection table, peristaltic transfer pump, temperature control equipment.
