Pago de Anguix Barrueco is a magnificent red wine, with personality, complex and structured that will improve its ageing in the bottle. It is a wine that reflects the complexity and structure of the plot that gives it its name. The plot is located at an altitude of more than 850 metres above sea level in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region of Burgalesa. Its vineyards, between 20 and 30 years old, are located on stony soils with a clay-limestone base. Its elaboration is respectful with the environment and focused on obtaining the purest authenticity of the place.

TASTING NOTES:

Sight: Intense and bright red colour, where the purple shades of its youth can still be distinguished.

Nose: It has very complex and intense aromas. Notes of toasted almond and hazelnut on a deep background of red fruits. With hints of vanilla, coffee and cocoa.

Palate: In the mouth it has a deep tannic structure balanced with a good mineral acidity that gives it a great freshness. It has a very pleasant sensation thanks to its velvety texture and its great smoothness. With a long finish of great fruitiness and spicy notes.

APPELLATION OF ORIGIN: Ribera del Duero.

WINEMAKING: Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes.

AGEING: Aged for 15 months in extra fine grain French oak barrels.

CURIOSITIES: The Pagos de Anguix vineyards are located in the municipalities of Anguix and Olmedillo de Roa, in the north of the Ribera del Duero in Burgos. This area has been called the "golden diamond" of the region by the Master of Wine Jancis Robinson, due to the quality of its soils and the kindness of its climate for the cultivation of vines. The climate is temperate, although with very cold nights, generating high temperature contrasts which are very favourable for quality viticulture. The soils are also shallow, sandy, with a high limestone and iron content.
