Curiosities:
The “El Rincón” farm (Aldea del Fresno), located just 54km southwest of the capital, was acquired by Mr. Jose Manzanedo , first Marquis of Manzanedo and Duke of Santoña, who built an important palace, surrounded by gardens, in 1850. His vineyard of Garnacha Tinta and Garnacha Tintorera
It reached more than 100 hectares in the 19th century, although in the middle of the 20th century it was progressively uprooted. In 1994 Mr. Carlos Falcó inherited the property from his blood aunt Mrs. Paloma Falcó, Marquesa de Manzanedo, establishing her main residence there in 1999.
Carlos Falcó is one of the fundamental reasons why quality wine is made in the Montes de Toledo. Educated at the University of Davis in the 70s, when he returned to Spain he decided to pour all his knowledge into the Valdepusa Domain and his success accompanied him from the first moment. Innovative, creative, with a profound knowledge of the land and the vineyard, the wines of the Marqués de Griñón set trends.
