This wine is produced only in a "great year" when the ripeness of the Chardonnay and Pinot noir grape must allow the subtle balance. It is the most prestigious Champagne region.
Precise, silky, balanced and harmonious with rich, powerful body of high purity and an incredible ability to improve with the passage of time.
Made with 55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay, 20% of the wine matures in oak barrels without malolactic fermentation. Cristal is produced using crops from the best vineyards of the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs. The wines undergo an average of 5 years maturation in cellars and rest 8 months after disgorgement to perfect its maturity. The dose of 8 to 10 g / l is adapted to each era.
An extraordinary year that brought together all the factors that make a big Champagne: temperatures remain high without excessive heat or sun preceded by a mild winter and a reduction in rainfall (around 20%) during the cycle growth, cool nights with cold dry north-east, the wind from August to September. These exceptionally favorable conditions combined meant that the grapes ripened perfectly and the flavors were well focused.
The harvest began on 12 September Chardonnay, with an average sugar concentration superior to 11% natural alcohol.
A delicate, intense wine that reveals a precise combination of nectar from flowers, cocoa, toasted hazelnuts and candied citrus fruits. The texture is infinitely silky, concentrated and tasty, with an explosion of ripe fruit, red fruit, white chocolate, candy and pastries typical of Cristal. It is a powerful and elegant wine, with a "crescendo" of sensations that attains a true harmony of flavors and perfect integration. The finish is fresh with a bitterness that almost gives the wine sharpness.
