Honoro Vera Garnacha is a red wine with a strong fruity component, tasty, floral and with a nose in which raspberry and redcurrant aromas stand out. It is a young wine made exclusively with the Garnacha variety from old vineyards located on pleasant slopes at a considerable altitude of between 700 and 100 metres above sea level. It is a technically perfect wine, with many things and all in place.
TASTING NOTES:
Appearance: Ripe cherry red colour with a garnet rim.
Nose: Aromas reminiscent of raspberries and redcurrants with a mineral and spicy background.
Mouth: In the mouth it is fruity, floral, very fresh and easy to drink, tasty, producing the pleasant sensation of tasting a fruit bonbon in the mouth.
DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN: Calatayud.
WINEMAKING: Made with 100% Garnacha grape variety.
AGEING: Short ageing in French oak barrels.
CURIOSITIES: The 64 hectares of our own vineyards are cultivated on plots with gravel, composed of pebbles and boulders from well-drained alluvial deposits, and others with red slate from compacted clay. These soils are not very fertile and hardly retain rainwater. Other plots are in areas of clay soils with high iron content and poorly rolled pebbles.
Calatayud is one of the highest areas of Aragon. This high slope favours the aeration of the vineyard, it is like a miniature reproduction of the Ebro basin, with its outer sierras, its interior or trench and its piedmont (the place where the mountains begin). The vineyards of Garnacha vieja de Ateca go down the slopes of the outer sierras.
