Tasting Notes
Very intense cherry colour.
Nose the aroma is powerful, rich in ripe fruit, floral and mineral with fine toasted molten oak.
In the mouth it is a very powerful wine, fleshy, tasty and very elegant with velvety tannins.
Elaboration and aging
From organically grown grapes, made from 100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) grapes. The grapes are from vines between 20 and 80 years old. The aging is 30 months in barrels, a third new, a third of a wine and a third of two wines and 70% of French oak.
Quinta de la Quietud is in the middle of the La Jara vineyard, in Zamora. To the north is the village of Toro, perched on its golden cliffs and surrounded by the contrast of the vineyards and fruit trees. In this idyllic location, where the queen is the Tinta de Toro grape variety, Jean-François Hébrard, the oenologist and manager of the winery, pampers his vineyard following the guidelines of organic cultivation.
Quinta la Quietud has been certified for organic cultivation since 2002, something they achieved in part thanks to their manual work of the soil with fertilizer composed of sheep's manure or a mixture of sheep/cow/horse according to requirements; treatments with infusions and decoctions of plants (nettle, valerian, lavender, etc.) and minerals (sulphur and copper).
A manual pre-pruning is also carried out from November to January, winter pruning in February and March, green pruning in May, and grandchilding/airing of the vine in July. Harvesting is always done by hand and in the mornings in perforated boxes of 20 kg.
Quinta Quietud is sure to captivate you. A great wine from a small winery in Toro, which since 2002 has been certified as organically grown, from octogenarian vines, mostly Tinta de Toro, pampered to the maximum to obtain a complex, powerful and elegant wine that grows with time.
