Tasting Notes

Attractive ruby ​​color tile middle layer and light shades. Intensely aromatic nose with ostados integrated with ripe fruit and balsamic notes. After some time in the glass, aromas evolve traces of tea, spices and snuff. The attack on the palate is round and harmonious, showing silky tannins but also keeping fresh and lively. The aftertaste is very persistent, recovering memories of toast and raisins.

Development and Aging

Made mostly from Tempranillo grapes from farms in ashtray where the orientation, the Atlantic climate and limited productivity grapes offer us ideal for this style of wine.
Following the classical concepts of Rioja, the wine was aged for 24 months in American oak barrels and French (50-50%) and then remained in the bottle for 3 years.

Baron de Ley wineries began its journey in 1985. A winery in the image of the French châteaux, as facilities and vineyards are located on the same property, the Imas estate, located in Mendavia, on the left bank of the river Ebro; an ideal place for growing grapes.

Specializing in the development of reserves and large reserves of high quality, Baron de Ley is one of the most important references D.O.Ca. Rioja. The harvest is done manually and the fact of having grapes walk from winery contributes especially to the quality of the wines.
