Tasting Notes:

Colour dark cherry with purple highlights.
On the nose a complex profile, with strong minerality, black fruits, toasted and smoky nuances, a balsamic background and delicate notes of vanilla, liquorice and cedar.
On the palate it is structured and dense, very fruity and with the freshness of Sonsierra wines, extraordinary acidity, delicate tannins and magnificently integrated oak. A long, refined finish.

Production and Ageing:
Made from Tempranillo and Graciano grapes from old vineyards trained in the bush method on limestone soils. Destemmed and uncrushed, the grapes underwent cold maceration for 5 days before fermenting in tanks for 10 days at a controlled temperature. This La Rioja crianza red wine was then aged for 12 months in 225-litre barrels and a 2,500-litre French oak cask. Once bottled, the Pico Palomares red wine was left to rest for over a year in the cellar before being released onto the market.
