Production and Aging:
Most of our vineyard is made up of
old vines, over 25 years old , in which the Tempranillo variety is mostly grown. It has 10 to 20 days of elaboration at a temperature between 28 and 30 ºC and is aged for
12 months in French and American oak barrels in equal parts , with different toastings to enhance the aromas of the varieties. To conclude, it spends from 7 to 12 months in the bottle.
Curiosities:
Felix Azpilicueta Martinez He is the founder of the original winery, which now bears his name. He is one of the figures most relevant in the history of wine in La Rioja since he began as a winemaker in 1881 and participated in the first exports of Rioja wine. - The star farm is called Fuenmayor of 800 hectares. and it has irregular terrain at different heights and with differences in climate that make the same grape variety express itself differently.
