Tasting Notes:

  • Color: Intense layer of cherry-red cherry.
  • Nose: Medium-high intensity where the predominant varietal aromas of black fruit, (blackberry, prune, cassis). Fruit harmoniously assembled with roasts of the aging, spices and smoked. Mineral background
  • Mouth: Powerful and glyceric, with nice tannin very well integrated. Retronasal balsamica that invites a second drink.

Elaboration and Aging:

Four Steps Black, 100% Mencia , Is born from selected grapes of balanced strains of low yield, most of them more than 80 years, coming from vineyards located in zones of slope of the region of the Bierzo. After vinification, it completes its Aging between 7 and 8 months in French and American oak barrels Of 225L of medium toast. It is bottled without clarification so it may contain suspended particles.

Curiosities:

At the foot of the road to Santiago, stands an 18th century manor house with large rooms and high ceilings. Its foundations have always known the art of winemaking and its soils have been tainted thousands of times with the must of the mencia. Abandoned for a few decades, the wine cellar, it can always be. It is the perfect place. In 2003, Four Steps was born.
