More info about Wine red wine Pétalos del Bierzo 2019 - Outlet - buy wine bierzo

Pétalos del Bierzo is an elegant, intense and exquisitely perfumed wine that perfectly reflects all the nuances of the Mencía grape and the Bierzo region, also known as Spanish Burgundy: old vines grown on steep, rocky slate lands from which the best of the Mencía grape is extracted.

Tasting Notes

Intense dark cherry red colour, with a high coat. Abundant tears that ink the glass. Very good aromatic intensity in the nose, with good toasty and slightly fruity notes. The ripe black fruit gains intensity and becomes the protagonist along with lactic, subtle floral and pleasant balsamic notes. Good entry in the mouth. Fresh, very tasty, sweet and intense, with a silky passage. Good tannins yet to be polished and correct acidity. Long finish with a fruity aftertaste.

Elaboration and ageing

Produced jointly by Ricardo Pérez Palacios, Chelo Palacios' son, and his cousin Álvaro Palacios, who is well known for his Priorat wines. Together they have created this small winery in Corullón, the heart of the Bierzo region. They own several small plots of land where they grow the typical Mencia.
Made with selected Mencia from their vineyards. It ferments with the whole grape, including the stems, and macerates with skins. Short time in French oak barrels during 10 months.
