  • In mouth: Armed in the mouth, balanced and fresh, with a long finish.

Processing and aging:
Since time immemorial in the Bierzo it was known that pieces of land produced the best wines. In one of these places is located Areixola farm, vineyard centennial, formed in glass and planted at high density as dictated by tradition. Vinedo that only admits interventions and manual care. Land in which only the traces of the viticulturist are marked and has never been tamped and compacted by heavy machinery.
The grapes arrive at the winery in small boxes of 12 Kg capacity. Bunch by bunch are picked at the selection table and crushed without destemming. The wine is made in stainless steel tanks with bazuqueos and slight overruns during the fermentation, which lasted for 15 days at 28ºC of temperature. Macero for 20 days more, he bled and was in deposit for two weeks before driving it to aging in new French oak barrels and capacity 225 liters.

Curiosities:

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS:
This vineyard transmitted us the wisdom of our ancestors, viticulture history and a commitment to our natural environment. And we were inspired by the need to make a wine linked to the soil and the climate, which would be related to our territory.

Terras Group Gauda is constituted by three wineries: Bodegas Terras Gauda , Vinedos and Bodegas Pittacum Y Quinta Sardonia , and by the Rosaleira vegetable cannery. Bodegas Terras Gauda acquired in 2002 Bodegas Pittacum, in the Denomination of Origin Bierzo, to produce quality reds from old vineyard and aged in oak.

Pittacum has 5 hectares of centenary vineyards planted in a glass and since 1999 they have been making wines, at which time the Bierzo It was an authentic unknown and before they disembarked prestigious enologists like Álvaro Palacios or Raul Perez.
