Catena Malbec is a red wine that stands out for its unique character, excellent typicity, proportion and concentration. Pleasant and velvety in the mouth, with a marked typicity, enhanced by aromas of red fruits and violets. This wine has a cold maceration prior to fermentation, in order to obtain the most delicate aromas of the skins. In addition, this wine has great ageing potential.
TASTING NOTES:
Sight: Intense violet colour, with purple reflections.
Nose: Intense aromas of ripe plums and chocolate, floral aromas with earthy hints and spicy touches of black pepper.
Palate: In the mouth it has a great concentration of flavours and an enveloping, silky texture.
APPELLATION OF ORIGIN: Mendoza.
WINEMAKING: Made from 100% Malbec grapes.
AGEING: Aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
CURIOSITIES: The wines of this line, 100% varietal, are made with grapes from different lots of the Catena family vineyards. Each vineyard is divided into lots, which are harvested and prepared separately, to then integrate the final blend of each Catena varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Chardonnay. By bringing in components from different terroirs or altitudes, they aim to create a more expressive and balanced wine. Catena wines tend to be consumed quickly and have proven to age wonderfully well after 10 to 20 years.
