Alaya Tierra is a powerful, dense and concentrated red wine, with a high alcohol content, which is only secondary thanks to its silky texture and long finish. It is a single varietal Garnacha tintorera from old, low-yielding vineyards in the cooler, higher areas of the Almansa region, planted on chalky, nutrient-poor soils at an altitude of over 1,000 metres above sea level.

AGEING: Aged for 15 months in new French and American oak barrels.
CURIOSITIES: Bodegas Almansa is one of the seven winemaking projects of the Gil Family States (Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares) wine group of Jumilla, which brings together different and interesting wineries located in different denominations of origin and each with a well-defined personality. The winery, founded in 2007, is located in the east of the province of Albacete within the D.O. Almansa, the vineyards located 3 km north of Almansa are planted with the native varieties of the area, Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell, on particularly chalky soils.
