LA BODEGA. A PERFECT PLACE.
The winery is located in a sober and beautiful building used in the past as a barn and stable for oxen. The transformation of the building has been done with an extreme respect for the original structure: thick stone walls, chestnut wood ceilings and slate floors. This is the perfect place for the production of an excellent wine, with an average temperature below 20ºC and an optimum humidity level.
The enormous French oak barrels were made especially for the winery by the renowned French cooperage Seguin Moreau. These barrels are used for vinification as well as in the large "chateaux". During the harvest, each variety is picked individually in quantities, the grapes are selected and placed in the barrels to ferment by decanting, without stepping on them, in a completely manual process. The wine ages, separated by grape variety, in the best French oak barrels, Icono de Seguin Moreau. The blending of the different varieties is done before bottling the wine.

The winery produces three wine brands or categories that each represent a generation of the Reynolds family: GLORIA REYNOLDS, red and white; JULIAN REYNOLDS, red and white and CARLOS REYNOLDS, red and white. All of them are aged in barrels for at least one year. It also produces a liqueur wine, under the old family label ROBERT R. REYNOLDS, in the style of the old table wines.

GLORIA REYNOLDS wine will only be produced in the years when the harvest is excellent.

Seguin Moreau & Reynolds Wine Growers
The well-known Seguin Moreau cooperage produces barrels and casks in collaboration with the winery, providing Reynolds Wine Growers with unique products. As you can see on the Seguin Moreau sign, the barrels were specially produced for "Figueira de Cima" the Reynolds winery property.

EL VIÑEDO. TOP FIGUEIRA.
Influenced by the microclimate of the sierra de Sao Mamede, in a place of immense beauty, Figueira de Cima emerges, with 200 hectares of green, gold and intense chestnut striped meadows. The landscape is filled with sky and hills; the oak and cork oaks are like herds in the landscape. The 40 hectares of vineyard are located on the top of a hill that gives it good natural drainage and excellent sunlight. The floor is mostly slate. The different elevations in the vineyard ensure that the temperature varies between day and night, which gives the grapes the best ripening conditions.

Alicante Bouschet (The main variety Reynolds)
It was introduced in Portugal by the Reynolds family more than a century and a half ago.
Alicante Bouschet or Alicante Henri Bouschet is a variety that has been widely cultivated since 1866, it is a cross between Petit Boueschet (in itself a cross between the old Teinturier du Cher and Aramon) and Garnacha.

In addition to Alicante Bouschet other Portuguese varieties of red and white are cultivated, such as: Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alfrocheiro and Arinto.
Other internationally recognized varieties are also produced in a smaller proportion: Syrah and Cabernet Souvignon.
