Tasting note Mirat Crianza 2001

Only the best wines from the winery Valdeviñas make it to be called "Mirat", the family name behind this winery.

Made with the varietal Tempranillo from vines over 80 years old. Havested during the 2nd week in October at 10º-12ºC. Vinification in wooden vats. Alcoholic fermentation (controlled during 8 days) and mlolactic fermentation in wooden vats. Aging in French oak for 13 months. 14,2% of alcohol.

It is of a intense dark red, clean , bright, with violet hues on the rim of the glass characteristic of old vines. Rich in glycerol and well layered.

In nose, it is intense, spectacular, with toasted hues, coffee, caramel and cocoa; when we swirl the glass ripe fruits leap out: apricots, quinces and ripe grapes. Complex, elegant and of great intensity.

The first taste is generous, sweet and very clean. The aromas are now expressed in the mouth with real intensity. A refined wine with a great structure and very long aftertaste.

We are dealing with a great wine, very well prepared, of a great aging and a lot of class. Its cellaring and further aging will add more character. To perceive in its maximum expression decant one hour before and serve at a temperature between 15º y 17ºC.
